9 On-the-go Camping Meals That Take 10 Minutes to Make

If there’s one thing camping should be, it’s simple. Nothing can complicate a trip more than deciding what to eat and then cooking it. Never fear, we’ve put together a list of 9 on-the-go camping meals that take 10 minutes to make.

1. Walking tacos

One of the best things about tacos is that they can be customized so that literally everyone enjoys them. To make walking tacos, you’ll just need a skillet to prepare the ground beef in as usual. Let each person choose a snack-sized bag of chips such as Doritos or Fritos. Set out dishes of tomatoes, cheese, sour cream, and lettuce and let everyone top their taco with whatever they want.

2. Individual Pizzas

Coleman makes a handy little gadget called a Camp Cooker. Fill it with pre-made pizza dough, sauce, and cheese and then stick it in the fire for about 10 minutes. Of course you can include other fillers like pepperoni, bacon bits, and veggies if you’d like. The best part is that you can use your imagination to make tons of delicious foods with the camp cooker.

3. Pigs in Blankets

It doesn’t get much simpler than roasting hot dogs. To turn it into a “pig in a blanket” just take refrigerated biscuit dough and wrap it around the hot dog.

4. Grilled cheese

Bread, butter, and cheese are all you need for a basic grilled cheese sandwich. However, you can make it gourmet by adding leftover meat, eggs, tomatoes, or even avocado. Heat up a can of tomato soup in just a few minutes too.

5. Breakfast burritos

Fry some bacon, scramble some eggs, and put them inside a tortilla. You can also add salsa, onions, and peppers for extra taste.

6. Quesadillas

Another meal that can be as simple as tortillas grilled with cheese inside or made more fancy with pre-packaged grilled chicken strips, black beans, or salsa.

7. Pancakes

If you purchase the pre-measured mix in the plastic jug, all you’ll have to do is add water, shake, and pour into a skillet. For added nutrients, stir in blueberries, bananas, or into the mix.

8. Shrimp with Corn on the Cob

Shrimp cooks really quickly which makes it a great choice for camping. It tastes great cold and dipped in cocktail sauce or sauteed with butter and garlic. Corn on the cob is also delicious when grilled and only takes 10-12 minutes.

9. S’mores Cones

Ok, so technically this is dessert, not a meal, but they’re so delicious we had to include them. Take a sugar cone (yes, the kind you usually put ice cream in) and fill with marshmallows and chocolate chips. Wrap the cone with aluminum foil and grill for 7-10 minutes. Unwrap, let cool, and enjoy!
